I bought two magazines that survived over a hundred years, and are in great shape. Until the ARC Thrift Store got a hold of them.
I tried to carefully get the price stickers off, and if they are new enough, it isn’t a problem. But if they aren’t new enough… well, the old magazines now have some unnecessary damage. And I guarantee, the workers there couldn’t care less. It is just more stuff.
Even worse was a month ago, at the Arvada ARC, they had all of these fragile old antiques with those stickers slapped on the front of everything. Right on the art. These things are cardboard. Unbelievable.
Some old books, they will put in a plastic sleeve and then price is, or they will put a paper with the price on it inside the book like a bookmark. But some people just don’t care.
This isn’t the end of the world, but it is completely avoidable, and very sloppy work.
